Empathy Based Interrogation
Empathy Based Interrogation (EBI)
EBI is an advanced interrogation and interview philosophy designed to keep people talking. EBI is research-based and grounded in empathy which facilitates an understanding of the subject’s point of view and motivation for committing the offense. It also provides incentives for the subject to share accurate information. In addition, because it is a non-coercive, conversational interview, it is more easily defended in the courtroom.
Who will benefit from this course?
EBI will benefit anyone who conducts interviews for the purpose of gaining accurate and actionable information. Therefore, EBI can be applied to a wide array of interview settings in government, private and non-profit sectors. EBI is particularly effective in obtaining information from individuals who may be hesitant to participate or cooperate in the interview process.
This course is a combination of instruction and practical exercises.
EBI is currently approved for law enforcement credit in Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Virginia. We will work with any attendee to help obtain credit in their jurisdiction.
